Robots of the World

Filmed in the ‚retro-sci fi‘-looking Prague Underground, Robots of the World is based on the writings of Czech author Karel Capek who coined the word robot. Inspired by the set and costume design of early productions of Capek’s play Rossum’s Universal Robots, the video shows a cardboard robot trying to perform a number of standard tasks robots are able to do today. The cuteness of the harmless humanoid robot is counteracted by Wikipedia texts snippets about the more sinister sides of other robots/autonomous machines in use today.
